Our Mission

Ensure universal, reliable and affordable oxygen across all care levels.

Nigeria's medical oxygen crisis is driven by weak policy implementation, limited infrastructure and deep access gaps for vulnerable populations — fuelling chronic stockouts that deny life-saving therapy to pneumonia, obstetric, and trauma patients.

Breathe Technologies Limited (BTL) was established to close this gap. Through the Oxygen for All Nigerians (O4AN) Project, BTL deploys a decentralised hub-and-spoke distribution model, a tiered rate-card pricing system, and a digital ordering platform to make medical oxygen available, accessible and affordable at every level of the Nigerian healthcare system — from tertiary teaching hospitals to the most remote Primary Healthcare Centres.

The project is approved by the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare and operates across Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Kano, FCT, Port Harcourt and Edo.

What We Do

Five core services from BTL.

Breathe Technologies Ltd provides end-to-end medical oxygen services — from production and distribution to equipment, consumables and healthcare training.

Medical Oxygen Distribution

Reliable supply to public and private health facilities via a hub-and-spoke model, prioritising last-mile delivery to facilities historically excluded from urban-centric oxygen supply chains.

PSA Installation & Maintenance

Installation and maintenance of Pressure Swing Adsorption oxygen generation plants for hospitals and state governments, often through public-private partnership arrangements.

Medical Gas Piping Systems

Design and installation of Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS) connecting oxygen sources directly to wards, theatres and ICUs — the critical last-mile infrastructure to the bedside.

Accessories & Consumables

Supply of cylinders, regulators, flow meters, masks and oxygen-therapy consumables, ensuring facilities have the full complement of equipment to deliver oxygen safely and continuously.

Healthcare Professional Training

Facilitation of training for plant operators, biomedical engineers and clinical staff in oxygen plant operation, safety and therapy administration — translating infrastructure into sustainable service.

Delivery Model

Decentralised hub-and-spoke distribution.

I

Decentralised Regional Production

Bypasses the centralisation of cryogenic liquid and gas oxygen plants in major cities. Following PPP and leasing structures, BTL works with asset owners to ensure uptime of oxygen sources and delivery to end-users — reducing transit-related delays and costs.

II

Rate Card System

Provides oxygen-as-a-service to public and private facilities. A unique pricing mechanism ensures sustainability of existing healthcare infrastructure while cross-subsidising access for the most under-resourced facilities.

III

Hub-and-Spoke Distribution

Central hubs generate medical-grade oxygen, which is delivered to surrounding public and private health facilities via a "milk-run" approach that is highly responsive to rural healthcare needs across wide geographic catchments.

Why It Works

Cost Efficiency

By eliminating logistical complexities of cross-country trucking, BTL provides oxygen at a fraction of standard market rates — increasing affordability for under-resourced PHCs and rural facilities.

Resilience & Supply Security

Decentralised production and multi-source hub networks reduce single-point-of-failure risk. Emergency preparedness protocols ensure priority supply during public health crises and natural disasters.

Market Shaping

The aggregation economy across 180+ facilities creates a network effect that drives down unit costs over time, progressively improving affordability for all tiers — including Essential Care and Zelo Care.
